The TICK GARD ® product   is indicated for cattle, in the treatment and control of infestations by  Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus  (cattle tick), in the prevention and as an aid in the control of  Cochliomyia hominivorax larvae  (screwworms) , in the treatment and prevention of Dermatobia hominis  larvae   (warblea) and in the treatment and prevention of  Haematobia irritans  (horn fly).
 

ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION, DOSAGE AND HOW TO USE:

Route of Administration

The TICK GARD ® product   must be administered via pour on, on the animal's dorsal line, from the nape of the neck to the rump.

Dosage

The TICK GARD ® product   must be administered in a single dose of 1 mL of product for every 10 kg of the animal's live weight (BW), corresponding to 2.5 mg/kg of Fluazuron and 1.25 mg/kg of Fipronil.

How to Use:

The TICK GARD ® product   is ready to use. The treatment must be integrated into a strategic parasite control program to be defined by the veterinarian.

SECURITY:

The TICK GARD ® product   can be used on calves from 3 months of age.

PRECAUTIONS:

  • Treat only healthy animals;
  • Administer the product only by the recommended route;
  • Do not reuse empty packaging;
  • Any unused veterinary product or waste material derived from such product should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements;
  • Once opened, the product must be used within a maximum period of 90 (ninety) days.

Precautions to be taken by the person administering the product to animals:

  • Handle the product with great care to avoid exposure, taking all recommended precautions;
  • Store the product in a dry, cool place, away from sunlight;
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke during application;
  • Wash your hands with soap and water after handling the product. Use appropriate protective equipment: boots, apron, mask and glasses;
  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If accidental exposure to the skin occurs, wash the affected area with running water and soap. If accidental exposure to the eyes occurs, wash them immediately with clean water;
  • In case of symptoms of poisoning due to exposure, seek medical advice immediately, presenting the product leaflet;
  • In case of accidental ingestion, rinse mouth with plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting and seek medical attention immediately.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

  • Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the formula's components.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:

During the studies, no adverse reactions were observed with the use of the product.

GRACE PERIODS:

CATTLE :

SLAUGHTER – TREATED ANIMALS SHOULD ONLY BE SLAUGHTERED 148 DAYS AFTER THE LAST APPLICATION;

MILK – THIS PRODUCT SHOULD NOT BE APPLIED TO FEMALES PRODUCING MILK FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.

CONSERVATION:

Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature (15-30°C), away from sunlight, out of reach of children and pets.
