Indications 

Texvet Max is indicated for use in sprays, in the fight against the following ectoparasites that affect cattle: Ticks of the genus Boophilus microplus (adults and immatures), Larvae of Dermatobia hominis and Flies of the genus Haematobia irritans (adults).

 

Dosage
The recommended dose of Texvet Max is 1 mL for 1 L of water. The recommended dilution is 20 mL in 20 L of water (chlorinated or not). Bathe the animals using 4 to 5 liters of solution per animal. This preparation should be done in a suitable container by adding the water and then the product and shaking until a white emulsion is formed.
For the spraying process, use a pump with adequate capacity and spray the product on the animal, using approximately 4 to 5 liters of solution for each adult animal, in the opposite direction of the coat, paying special attention to the head, ears, armpits, groin, udder and tail insertion.
After dilution, use the product within a maximum of 6 hours.

Contraindications and Limitations of Use

Do not administer to pregnant females or animals under 7 months of age.
Do not apply to weakened, exhausted, stressed or sick animals.
Do not administer to animals with damaged skin.
Do not administer the product during periods when rain is expected. The effectiveness of the product after bathing in the rain has not been demonstrated.
Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients of the product.
Do not apply the product during hours of intense heat.

 

Drug Interactions

The use of the product simultaneously with other organophosphate and carbamate-based medications must be carefully evaluated and monitored by a veterinarian to prevent the occurrence of poisoning.
Products that activate cholinergic receptors and peripheral muscle relaxants should be avoided when using organophosphates.
Phenothiazine tranquilizers increase the toxicity of organophosphates.
Succinylcholine and other neuromuscular blocking agents may potentiate the nicotinic effects of organophosphates.

  

Precautions

Before using the product, it is recommended to perform a biocarrapaticidogram to assess the resistance of ticks to the active ingredients. Consult a veterinarian.
Keep the packaging closed.
Follow the dosages and recommendations for use of the product.
Use sprayers (manual or motorized), in good condition, with good pressure and previously well washed, if they have been previously used with another type of product.
Product toxic to fish.
Avoid prolonged contact with the skin, mucous membranes and inhalation of the product.
Spray dairy cows only after milking and wash the udders of treated cows before milking.
Wash your hands after handling the product and do not smoke or eat while handling the product.
Use personal protective equipment (gloves, overalls, safety glasses, cap and mask against toxic gases) when preparing and applying the product.
Do not reuse empty packaging.
Spray the product downwind.

 

Adverse Reactions
At the indicated dosage and under the guidance of a veterinarian, poisoning should not occur in the species for which the product is indicated.
Pyrethroids have potent insecticidal activity with low toxicity in mammals. They are generally safe, but in the event of accidental poisoning, they can cause allergies, nausea, vomiting and headache.
Organophosphates, in the event of accidental poisoning, can mainly cause the following toxic effects: lethargy, anorexia, diarrhea, pollakiuria, vomiting, salivation and muscle tremors.


Information for Medical Use
Avoid contact of the product with the skin and mucous membranes of the human body. In case of accidental contact, wash the affected areas several times with soap and water.
In cases of human poisoning, seek medical attention, taking the product packaging with you.
Cypermethrin: there is no specific antidote. Treatment should be symptomatic.
Chlorpyrifos: atropine sulfate and cholinesterase reactivators (contration or PAM).
Piperonyl butoxide: there is no specific antidote. Treatment should be symptomatic.

ATTENTION: COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING WAITING PERIODS:

CATTLE

SLAUGHTER: ANIMALS TREATED WITH THIS PRODUCT SHOULD ONLY BE SLAUGHTERED 6 DAYS AFTER THE LAST APPLICATION.

MILK: MILK FROM ANIMALS TREATED WITH THIS PRODUCT MUST NOT BE INTENDED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION UNTIL 1 DAY AFTER THE LAST APPLICATION OF THIS PRODUCT.

 

USE OF THE PRODUCT UNDER CONDITIONS OTHER THAN THOSE INDICATED IN THIS PACKAGE MAY CAUSE THE PRESENCE OF RESIDUES ABOVE THE APPROVED LIMITS, MAKING THE FOOD OF ANIMAL ORIGIN UNFIT FOR CONSUMPTION.
