Tick-killing, blight-killing, mosquito-killing and maggot-killing agent for dorsal application (pour-on) for cattle based on 1% Fipronil.
indication:
Bovguard is a pour-on ectoparasiticide based on Fipronil (1%), indicated for the treatment and prevention of the main ectoparasites of young and adult cattle. A highly effective product for the control of ticks, botflies, horn flies and myiasis/maggots in cattle.
formula:
Each 100 mL contains:
Fipronil ........................... 1.00 g
Vehicle qsp.................. 100.00 mL
Fipronil ........................... 1.00 g

dosage and route of administration:
Topical application (pour on) of 1 mL/10 kg of body weight, equivalent to 1 mg of Fipronil per kilogram of body weight.
The recommended dose should be administered along the dorsal midline of the animal, from the neck to the insertion of the tail, using the product's self-dispensing packaging or dosing gun.
The product should be applied in a single dose.
Withdrawal period:
cattle:
slaughter: treated animals should only be slaughtered 93 days after the last application.
milk: this product should not be applied to females producing milk for human consumption.

poisoning and overdose in animals:
Fipronil has selective action against arthropods, and is therefore not considered a toxic product for animals. However, poisoning is observed from derivatives of Fipronil itself, which, when in contact with water with an alkaline pH and solar radiation, gives rise to three other compounds that are more toxic to arthropods and domestic animals (sulfone, sulfide and desulfinyl). These, in turn, have a broad spectrum of action and can quickly lead to the death of animals.
